Fotona’s reputation has been greatly strengthened by having developed close relations with a number of prominent gynecologists in the region, including Dr. Jorge Gaviria of Venezuala and Dr. Adrian Gaspar of Argentina. In addition, Fotona’s distribution partner in South America, Latinmed, has successfully raised public awareness of the simplicity and effectiveness of the company’s new laser gynecology treatments by actively participating numerous regional conferences and training events.
The following are a few highlights from the South American congresses and other activities that Fotona has participated in this fall:
- At the XX Ecuadorian National Congress of Gynecology and Obstetrics, held from the 25th to the 28th of September, Dr. Adrian Gaspar presented two lectures on the topic of Er:YAG applications in gynecology. A live workshop with a FotonaSmoothTM laser was also conducted at a separate location not far from the congress.
- The 1st Venezuelan Symposium on Cosmetogynecology was held from the 22nd to the 23rd of November, with international lecturers from the US, Mexico, Chile and Argentina participating in this inaugural event. During the Symposium, one of Fotona’s reference physicians, Dr. Jorge Gaviria, was appointed as the Venezuelan representative for the International Society of Cosmetogynecology (ISCG). The 2nd Symposium is planned for November 28th & 29th, 2013 in Isla de Margarita, Venezuela.
- The 5th Hands-On Training in Cosmetogynecology was held from November 25th to 27th, in Caracas, Venezuela. Coordinated by Dr Jorge Gaviria, the event included a special invited guest, Dr Jack Pardo from Chile, who has recently begun working with a FotonaSmoothTM gynecological laser after having used an alternative system.
- The XIX Peruvian National Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecology was held from November 27th to 31st. The congress has become a major regional gynecology event, with the participation of international lecturers and over 1200 attendees. Dr. Adrian Gaspar performed a live workshop treating several patients with a FotonaSmoothTM laser, during which the audience could follow a detailed on-screen projection of the entire procedure.
