Fotona and its local partner LaserMedico exhibited at the 23rd ESGE (European Society for Gynecological Endoscopy) Congress in Brussels from 25- 27 September. In addition to its exhibition booth, the company gave a presentation on its patented SMOOTH technology and a brief introduction to all four gynecological applications that utilize the unique pulse mode (IntimaLase®, IncontiLase®, RenovaLase® and ProlapLase™).
During the congress, Dr. Urska Bizjak-Ogrinc presented a well-attended and well-received lecture (with standing room only) on the topic of urinary incontinence. Dr. Bizjak-Ogrinc’s presentation addressed laser treatment using Fotona’s patented IncontiLase® laser therapy, with the latest results from a study of 175 female patients after a 12 month follow-up. The lecture was followed by a lively discussion among gynecologists in the audience, many of whom had heard of laser treatments for incontinence for the first time.
Another doctor, Dr. Sabina Sencar, presented a lecture the following day on the topic of laser prolapse treatment with Fotona’s ProlapLase®. The study included 61 patients with higher grades of prolapses (II-IV) showing great improvements maintained over a 12-month period. Dr. Sencar’s lecture stimulated an equally high level of interest and discussion among the doctors present.
Throughout the congress Fotona was quite pleased with the high level of positive feedback received from lecture attendees, visitors to the Fotona booth, as well as members of the European scientific community who are active in the field of gynecological research.
