At the 22nd World Congress on Controversies in Obstetrics, Gynecology & Infertility (COGI), Fotona’s booth was very well visited with particularly high interest from gynecologists based in Europe, Latin America, Asia, the Middle East and Australia. Many existing users also visited our booth to express satisfaction with Fotona’s gynecology applications and to inquire about the latest enhancements.
During the congress’ scientific program, Dr. Marco Gambacciani talked in depth about Fotona’s treatment for vaginal atrophy with a lecture title: “Vaginal Erbium Laser: the second generation thermotherapy for genitourinary syndrome of menopause”. Fotona’s head of Gynecology, Zdenko Vizintin, also presented a lecture for Dr. Bizjak-Ogrinc titled, “Treatment of pelvic organ prolapses using Erbium YAG laser thermo therapy – 12 and 24 months follow-up”. There was substantial interest for both lectures as well as lots of engaging questions afterward, with many audience participants coming to the Fotona booth and inquiring about Fotona’s SMOOTH® technology.
In general, this year’s COGI congress in Budapest proved to be an excellent experience and a great opportunity to present the benefits of minimally invasive laser gynecology to a large global audience. We look forward to the next two COGI events in Melbourne (March 2016) and Amsterdam (November 2016).
